Shirley Faye Ortega

Mrs. Ortega was born in Los Banos, CA on August 2, 1947. She grew up in El Nido with her parents William and Susie Cogburn along with her brothers Herman (Idaho) and Herbert (El Nido) Cogburn. She met her loving husband Ron Ortega (Dodie) in high school through a mutual friend James Williams. They married August 26, 1965 and had three wonderful children Amy, Shelly, and Ron II. Mrs. Ortega worked early on, in El Nido as a teachers aid and later retired at Merced High School as an Assistant Manager in the Cafeteria.

She’s preceded in death by her son-in-law Marvin Chapman, and her parents William and Susie Cogburn. She was loved by her grandchildren Ashley, Daniel, Amber, Aubrey, Shannon, Alex, Alyssa, Jarrod, son-in-law Rob Hall, and beloved dog Mini.

The visitation will be held Friday May 8, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and the funeral will be Saturday May 9, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street Merced, CA.
