Rose Marie Martinez

1933-2012

Rose Martinez was born on January 20, 1933 in Cressey, CA and passed away on March 1, 2012 of ALS “Lou Gehrigs” Disease in Merced, CA.

She was a graduate of the O’Conner School of Nursing in San Jose, CA. She worked as a Registered Nurse throughout Merced and San Jose for 50 years.

When Rose wasn’t Nursing she and her husband enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world. However, the one thing she enjoyed the most was being a grandma, she was the best. She could never get enough of her grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio Martinez; daughter, Christina Johnson (Steven); son, Joseph Martinez; grandchildren, Aubry Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Matthew Clark; brothers and sisters, Norma Phillips (Osbert), Philip Soria (Sylvia), Genevieve Wancewicz (Chester), Daniel Soria (Terry), Mary Ellen Stamm (Gene), and Michael Soria (Anita); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Recitation of Rosary will be on March 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy, 435 W. 21st, Merced, CA at 9:30 A.M. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 A.M.
