Peter L. Ochoa was born on August 15, 1934 in Merced, California to Pedro and Maria (Jepez) Ochoa. He passed from this life surrounded by his wife Mary Lou, sons Robin, Darren (Maria), Peter Jr. of Merced, Ca. and Kelly (Margot) and grandchildren Taylor and Logan of Long Beach, Ca. and son Daniel (Olga) of Davis, Ca. on December 13, 2018.
Peter attended local schools and after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953 and graduated from the Air University in Alabama. Peter was a Tech. Sargent E6 and was a radio operator till he retired. He was assigned to the A.C.W. Squadron and had tours of duty in Turkey, France, Germany and also remote tours in Asia and Alaska. He was an avid golfer and member of the Merced Golf and Country Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Maria Ochoa; his siblings Joel, Elias, Naomi and Gloria Ochoa Salazar.
He is also survived by his brother Rev. Abe (Gloria) Ochoa of Merced, Ca. and nephews.
There will be a Funeral Mass for Peter on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Merced, Ca. His interment will be on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 10:30 am at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Ca.
