Michael A Lemas

Michael graduated from Merced High School in 1960. He then went on to join the United States Army and served our county in the Vietnam War. Michael was employed by Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a surveyor for 30 years. He retired in 1994. He was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also belonged to the Elks Club in Merced. Michael had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling in his RV. He loved playing many rounds of golf, completing crossword puzzles, playing cards and especially watching the 49ers play. Michael was a beloved husband and friend and he will truly and greatly be missed by all. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Tiofila Lemas and his first wife Barbara Pelikan. He is survived by his wife that he married February 16, 2001, Karen Lemas, Merced, brother Richard Lemas, Merced, sisters Pat (Bob) Gamble, Merced, Nancy (Larami) Lingen Felter, San Jose, Janet Leonardo, Merced, Debbie (Mark) Cumings, Mariposa, sister-in-law Patricia Duffy, San Francisco, and his godson Richie Lemas, Merced. There will be a memorial service for Michael on October 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California.
