Mercedes is survived by her husband, Jesus Lopez; sons, George Lopez, Jessie Martinez Lopez, and Paul Martinez Lopez; daughters, Stella Guzman, Mary Ellen Garcia, Esperanza Lopez, and Rosario Lopez; brothers, Tony Martinez, Robert Martinez, and Ralph Gonzalez; sisters, Theresa Araujo, Norma Gonzalez, Adela Paniwa, Mary Lopez, and Theresa Godionez; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merced. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
