Those who knew her knew that once you married into the family, you were considered “A Carrasco.” Mary never made distinctions and was overjoyed to welcome every son-in-law and daughter-in-law whom she dearly loved as her own children. They are; Armando Agurrie, Henry Avina, Anthony Vega, Jay Berrones, Joey Villa, David Souza, Leonard Cisneros, Carlos Leon and Tina Carrasco. No one enjoyed the status of grandmother more than Mary, who prized every grandchild and great-grandchild and was happiest being surrounded by them all. In 1982, Mary was born again. Soon after, in 1983, she became a member of Harvest Two Outreach, where she loved and faithfully served her pastors and local church family. Mary possessed a deep love for children. In 1989, she received an AA Degree in Child Development that would enable her to open her own daycare. She remained a childcare provider for 25 years. Known for having a love that knew no boundaries, Mary embraced five generations and remained constant and fervent in her prayers that her entire family would be saved and live for God. She will be held in loving memory by family and friends as an adoring matriarch and an outstanding example of a life dedicated to the service of others. “She was the greatest example of God’s unconditional love.” Mary is preceded by her parents and her brother Jimmy Hernandez. She also leaves 18 children, 31 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and extended family.
