Mary Louise Cannon

Mary L. Cannon was born in El Reno, OK on July 10, 1924 and passed away peacefully from this earth in Merced, CA on September 12, 2012 at the age of 88 and entered Heaven.

In 1972 Mary began raising 3 of her grandchildren and as a family moved to Merced in 1974. There she was employed by Merced County Dept. of Public Health where she served as the Birth and Death Registrar from 1977 until her retirement in 1988 but continued to work there until 1996. She also had been an employee of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

She was lovingly greeted in heaven by her parents, Joe and Myrtle Roush; sisters, Virginia Walker and Allice Phillips; brothers, John and Joe Jr. Roush; husband, Charles Cannon; her only child, Judy Dziegiel; and many other relatives and friends.

Mary is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Staton (Jeff), Pamela Ramirez, John Dziegiel (Duanta), Jeannette Amavisca (David), June Contreras (Leonard) and all of their families.

She will forever remain not only in our hearts but will also be affectionately remembered by many others who also called her Grandma, Aunt, and Friend.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, September 29th at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced CA to be followed by a pot luck dinner at 5pm at the Holiday Riviera Mobile Estates Clubhouse, 2500 N. Hwy 59, Merced CA. Everyone is Welcome to come and share their memories.
