Kathryn Lee Gardner

Kathryn Lee Gardner passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the age of 65 in Merced, where she was born and raised. She was the only daughter of Richard and Jean Gardner and is survived by brothers, Thomas, (Jacqueline) and Robert Gardner. Her father, Richard Gardner and her Brother "Rick" Gardner preceded her in passing.

As a young girl she was a member of "Girl Scouts" and loved the outdoors and camping. She was also very happy spending time with cousins, nieces and nephews at family gatherings. As a lifelong cat lover, Kathryn had a special affection for her pet cats, and fed many strays. Her library included beautiful books of cats. Kathryn was graduate of Merced High School and attended classes at Merced Jr. College in child care. Her life work was in home care and food industries. She thoroughly enjoyed working one year in Yosemite National Park. In the last decade Kathryn was a great help and support to her parents. Kathryn was a very spiritual person and took much comfort in her friends at church, the Creekside E.V. Free Church. She loved attending their outings, both local and out of town. She especially cherished the joy of being in their choir. Our family would like to thank Kathryn's "Bible Study Group" for their love and support.

A memorial celebration of Kathryn's life will be held at the Creekside Evangelical Free Church 2876 G St. October 8, at 11 o'clock. Friends are encouraged to share favorite stories. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the E.V. Free Church in Kathryn's name.
