Julius Olusola Olabode was born on August 4th, 1956, at Inisha Compound, Lale Street, Isan-Ekiti to Samuel Olabode and Felicia Olabode of the Obaisa family.
In his early years, he attended L.A. Primary School in Isan-Ekiti before graduating from Titicombe College in Kogi State in 1974. In 1976, he graduated with a GCE certificate from the Federal Government College in Sokoto.
Having taught at Ansarudeen High School, Ire-Ekiti from 1976 to 1977, he gained admission to study engineering at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Osun State.
He served in Enugu, Anambra State, during his national service (NYSC) in 1982.
Following the completion of his service, he was employed as an engineer by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1982. He attended a Machine Maintenance Course in Japan in 1984 as part of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). From 1989 to 1992 he worked as an Agricultural Engineer for the United Nations.
Having lived in California since 1992, Eng. Julius Olabode served as a maintenance department manager at Foster Farms until his retirement in the year 2020.
He passed away on August 11th, 2022. A man of destiny and glory, he was. His absence is felt deeply in our hearts, not only as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, but also as a dear friend to all of us.
His loving wife of 37 years, Julianah Adenike Olabode, and four children, Ayo, Segun, Wale, and Afolabi, Granddaughter Julianah, Daughter in law Griselda, Brothers Kunle & Femi, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives will miss him greatly.
Stratford Evans in Merced, CA will hold a viewing in honor of Julius Olabode on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM. Our hearts are heavy as we announce his passing. On Monday, August 22nd, 2022, a church service will be held in his honor at Christian Life Center in Merced, CA at 11 AM. And Mr. Julius Olabode will be laid to rest at the Merced District Garden of Angels on Monday at 1 PM. This will be followed by a reception at Christian Life Center on Monday, August 22nd from 2pm – 5pm.
