Joseph Frank Del Monte

March 10, 1921 – January 5, 2011

Joseph F. Del Monte passed away on January 5, 2011 in Merced, California at the age of 89. He was born on March 10, 1921 in Fresno, California. He previously lived in Fresno for about twenty years before moving to Merced.

Joseph was employed as parts manager for 45 years with John Roth Chevrolet. He had served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a past member of the Merced Elks Lodge #1240 B.P.O.E., Merced American Legion Post #83, and Italo-American Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Concessa Del Monte; his brother, Angelo; his wife, Ruth of seventy years; and son, Bill Del Monte.

He is survived by his son, Gary Del Monte; grandsons Joe Del Monte with wife Brenda and two children, Kenneth Del Monte with wife Charity and two children, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, Ca.
