Jose Jesus Rojas Bustamante

March 19, 1930 - October 30, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Jesus the morning of Monday October 30, 2023.

Jesus was born in Guanajuato, Mexico March 13th of 1930 to Juan Rojas and Consuelo Bustamante. Jesus was a young boy when he made his way from Guanajuato to California. It was here, in Merced California that Jesus made his career and met the love of his life, Mary Alonzo. He took great pride in his work as a supervisor with the Meissonnier Family Ranch. Jesus believed in the value of hard work which was instilled and passed on to his family.

Jesus married Mary the summer of 1987. Together, they raised 7 children and shared in the joy of many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.

Jesus will be greatly missed by many, especially his family:

Children & Step-Children: Irma Rojas, Maria Inez Sandoval, John Mariano, Sam Mariano, Dolores Duran, Charlie Mariano, Jimmy Mariano, Diana Perez.

Grandchildren: John R. Mariano Sr, Georgena Mariano, David Mariano, Marie Briceno, Leann Mariano, Lelani Mariano. Sammy Mariano, Priscilla Gutierrez, Gloria Mariano, Isaac Mariano. Nash Musquiz and Richard Musquiz. Phillip Mariano. Jimmy Mariano and Augie Mariano. Melina Aguilar, Jose Perez, Alex Perez, Jamin Perez. Monique Berumen, Matthew Dillman, Armando Diaz, Marc Anthony Mendoza.

A visitation for Jose will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, CA 95340. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church- West 12th, 519 West 12th Street, Merced, CA 95341.
