John Joseph Bain, Jr., a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away August 29, 2022. The son of John Bain and Rosalee Giovannone, he was born January 20, 1949, in Buffalo, New York. John grew up in New York and attended Canisius College. At the age of 19, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Captain. As part of this service, he served in the Vietnam War. John also supported numerous veterans’ groups and causes throughout his life. John is survived by his children, Rhianna, Andrew, Marenda, and Tyler and his grandchild, Fleetwood. His loved ones will remember his love for his family, his kind heart, his gift of gab, and his military pride. A service honoring the life of John Joseph Bain, Jr. will be held on September 23 at 9AM at the Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Following the viewing, his family and friends will lay him to rest at 11AM at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery with military honors.
