James Morgan Ligon was born on September 2, 1921 to Claude and Bertha Ligon in Nashville, Tennessee. James was a Baptist Christian Minister and Evangelist in several churches throughout California including one in Fresno and Mt. Bullion. He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946, in the United States Army.
James went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2018 in Merced, California. He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Bertha Ligon, his daughter and son in-law, Joyce and Fortinado Martinez and his sister Margaret Dowd. He is survived by his daughters Judy (Richard) Kleiman and Carol Sue Gregg; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation for James held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Private interment will follow at a later date in Bloomington, California.
