Gladys Fay White was born in Ola, Arkansas, May 22, 1929. She moved to Merced, CA in 1935 and graduated from Merced Union High School in 1948. She married Fred Henry White Jr. May 22, 1953. Gladys worked for Merced County Library where she retired in 1976.
After marrying Fred, they moved to Planada, California in 1956, where they started their family.
In 1999, they moved to New Jersey where she lived for 17 years, until she came back to Merced, California in 2016.
She is survived by her children Thomas- Rhoda White and Tammy- Arthur Barkalow; sisters Rusenna Moore, Nellie Dunnet and Mary Blackshear; brothers Jack Broadstock and Sam Broadstock; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandkids. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 10th, 2024 at the Plainsburg Cemetery 8943 Gillette Avenue Merced CA 95341. A Luncheon reception to follow at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home Hall 1490 B Street Merced CA 95341.
