Gerald Wayne Cox

Gerald "Jerry" Cox was born on September 13, 1944 in Huntington Beach, CA to George and Madeline Cox. He had two brothers, Lonnie Cox of Merced, CA and Larry Strunk of Sanger, CA. He lived most of his life in Merced. After high school he joined the Air Force where he was a Fire Fighter. After the Military he got into the auto parts business. He worked for TBA Auto Parts for over 30 years. Wednesdays were his favorite days to go to work because he got to go to Yosemite and deliver stuff to the garage up there. He loved to bowl when he was younger and was even on a bowling league.

In 1970 he married Theresa Cox. As they started their family and their kids grew up they would enjoy going camping, fishing, and gold panning. Jerry also loved watching old western and action movies. He loved cats and dogs. He had the biggest heart and would always help anyone in need.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents George and Madeline, his brother Lonnie Cox and his wife Theresa Cox. Jerry is survived by his three children, David (Mary) of Atwater, CA, Dennis of Layton, UT and Stephanie (Ben) of Merced, CA. Jerry is also survived by his five grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Hayden, Dustin, Alyssa, and Evan.

Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday March 13, 2015 at Winton District Cemetery in Winton, CA
