Frank J. Verduzco Sr. was born in Redlands, CA on November 24, 1935 and passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle of cancer in Merced, CA on September 13, 2012 at the age of 77.
Frank was a truck driver for over 40yrs.He also worked as a receiving clerk and in landscaping.
He was a lifetime Teamster member, past president of Club Mercedes, past member of Merced Elks, and was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
He was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. Cooking, fishing, and family gatherings were among some of his favorite things to do. He loved life and shared his love with his family and many friends. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Leo Robles; mother, Rose Cordero; and brother, Ernest Cordero.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Arlene (Linda) Verduzco of Merced; children, Michael (Michelle) Verduzco of Ventura, CA, Teresa (Leonard) Meneley, Frank Jr. (Deanne) Verduzco, Laura (Ken) Thurman, and Thomas Verduzco all of Merced; grandchildren, Frank III Verduzco, Leonard Meneley Jr., Adrian Verduzco, Daniel Meneley, Nicole Salcido, Phillip Verduzco, Alex Pruneda, Arlena Pruneda, Christine Verduzco, Gabriel Verduzco, Serafin Verduzco, Malachi Verduzco, Stephanie Ramirez, and Joey Espinosa; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Cordero; and sister, Dee Corrales.
A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy, 21st & Canal St., Merced, CA on Sunday, September 16th from 6:00pm-7:00pm with Recitation of Rosary to follow at 7:00pm and mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy on Monday, September 17th at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Hinds Hospice, 410 W. Main St., Ste. A, Merced, CA 95340.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
