Flynn Alan Epps was born in Merced, Ca. on 10-21-40. He was the son of Warren “Doc” Epps and Donnis “Donnie” Tiscornia Epps. Older brother to Jon Epps. Winkie, as we all knew him by was raised in Merced, attending local schools and graduated from Merced High School. After a long battle with pneumonia, Winkie passed away on 10-18-23, 3 days short of his 83rd birthday.
Winkie was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver most of his adult life. Co-owning his own trucking company E+C Trucking. He also worked and retired from Pepsi in Merced. Winkie was a real outdoorsman. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and had a passion for gardening, especially flowers and making beautiful flower arrangements. He spent many hours alongside his dad Doc, family and friends at the “Potholes” making it a memorable place for all.
Winkie leaves behind his mother Donnie Epps, Brother Jon Epps, a daughter Jan Marie Wong, 4 stepchildren Bill, Mike, Joe Pratt and Laurie Armstrong. His nephew Doug Epps and niece Amy Epps Martin. He has 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great nephews, and 1 great niece. Winkie was preceded in death by his father Doc Epps and wife Janice Epps.

There will be a graveside service on 11-6-23 @ 9 a.m. at the Merced District Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Stratford Evans Funeral Home.
