Eloise Renteria

March 7, 1951 - September 2, 2022

Eloise Renteria, 71, of Merced, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 2, 2022.

Eloise was born in Merced, California in 1951 to Frank and Elia Ybarra. She travelled to places like Spain and Puerto Rico before once again making Merced her home. Eloise was married to Javier Renteria in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii. Eloise and Javier were married for over 20 years.

Eloise enjoyed her retirement after serving many years with the Merced County District Attorney offices. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, being outdoors and loved a good party. Eloise was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. She always sported her favorite pink Giants hat to show her love for the team. Many will remember Eloise’s fierce competitiveness. She would often be seen running up and down the sidelines of the soccer field or cheering from the dugout. Her “colorful, vibrant, and booming language” could be heard at any sporting event she attended or participated in. Eloise never missed an opportunity to support her loved ones.

Eloise will be missed by many. She was a devoted wife, a passionate mother, a fabulous grandma, a wonderful sister, a caring aunt, a humorous friend, and a beautiful person. Blessings go to her husband, Javier and her three children: Melissa Lucchetti, Irma Shoff (Michael), and Jeremy Renteria. She was also graced with a lovely blended family and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Blessings also go to her four brothers: Frank, Danny, Antonio, and Javis Ybarra and her three sisters: Rosemary Ramirez, Irma Williams and Natalia Ybarra, along with several nieces and nephews. Eloise is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Elia Ybarra.

The memorial service will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

A private reception will honor Eloise’s life.
