Cody was born on May 8, 1991 in Merced, California to Barbara Lemire McNece and Shawn McNece. Cody was a lifelong resident of Atwater, attending Atwater Schools and graduated in 2009 from Buhach Colony High School.
Cody lived, breathed and loved all things having to do with hunting and being outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Luciana who also shared his appreciation for hunting.
Cody was incredibly focused and proud of his dogs. They were his pride and joy. He had just started breeding his German Shorthair Pointers, Duke and Dixie and was blessed to witness the birth of the first litter of 6 pups. When Cody wasn’t hunting or camping, he enjoyed golfing, watching and attending San Francisco Giants games and watching the Dallas Cowboys, mentioning he wouldn’t mind attending a game at the new stadium one day. Cody also enjoyed spending time with his friends playing pool or a round of golf or participating in spontaneous activities which usually resulted in lots of belly laughter and incredible memories.
Cody was predeceased in death by his paternal grandfather Ralph McNece; his maternal grandfather Ron Lemire and his mother Barbara Lemire McNece. He is survived by his father and stepmother Shawn and Tammy McNece, brother Nickolas McNece, He is also survived by his grandmother Carol Rudy of Atwater and grandfather Tom Rudy of Sacramento. Cody is also survived by his paternal grandmother Alta McNece of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; Aunt and Uncle, Teresa McNece McNamara and Daniel McNamara, cousins Kathleen McNamara Longo, Ross McNamara and Tara Jean McNamara. Uncle Kevin McNece and cousin Jennifer McNece Freyman, Uncle Darin McNece, Uncle and Aunt, Jim and Belinda Lemire, cousin Jeremy Lemire; Aunt Lynn Lemire, cousin Jessica Lemire; Uncle and Aunt, Jerry and Janine Carpenter, cousin Derek Ogden. Uncle Scott Lemire, cousins Melissa and Shantell Lemire. Cody is also survived by his extended family consisting of a multitude of loving friends and their welcoming families; all of whom were some of the most important people in his short life. Cody is also survived by several future hunters who he loved and adored.
Services will be held on December 13, 2023 at Stratford Evans Funeral Home. Viewing will be at 9:00am - 11:00am. Services will begin at 11:00am with a reception immediately following.
Interment will be private.
