Anna Alberta Pease was born in 1935 in Arkansas and passed peacefully on October 15th, 2022, at home in Merced, CA at the age of 87. Anna was born the third of 4 children to Louis and Pauline Hubach in a small cabin in the mountains of Arkansas. When she was one, her family moved to California and eventually settled in Winton.
Anna went to Merced High School. As a teenager, she became a Jehovah's Witness. She dedicated her life to sharing Jehovah’s word, especially enjoying sharing door to door.
Anna was strong, independent and spunky! She was a lifelong explorer and hiker who had an amazing green thumb. She worked as a secretary for PG&E and spoke of it fondly. There she met the love of her life, William Pease. They were married for 45 years before his passing in 2009. They were the perfect pair, two Peas in a pod! They lived life with love and humor. Together they explored all 48 states in their RV and visited Alaska on a cruise. They spent much of their time at Lake McClure on their houseboat, always taking nieces, nephews, and friends to enjoy with them. They were never able to have children, but loved all of their nieces and nephews like their own. Anna was a great hostess and always had the best snack table for both young and old.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband William, parents, Louis and Pauline Hubach, sister Novalee Gale, brothers Charles Hubach and Dwaine Hubach. She is survived by her nephews and niece; Jim Gale (Alice) of Colorado, Gary Gale (Dana) or Oregon, Charles Hubach Jr. (Gena) of Merced, Dean Hubach of Tennessee, Kelly Hubach (May) of Idaho, Debra/Sissy Denney (Mark) of Idaho, and Dwaine Hubach Jr. of Merced, many great and great, great nephews and nieces.
A service will be held at Stratford Evans in Merced on Nov. 5th, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a burial to follow at the District Cemetery. There will be a reception at Stratford Evans.
