Donald was an angel on earth. He was the ultimate role model to all who knew him. Donald was the most amazing husband, greatest father, loving grandfather, committed physician, devoted Catholic and a Korean War Veteran. His hard work, humility and humor made him a wonderful physician for over 40 years. He was passionate about his work. Even as his health began to deteriorate he continued to do house calls if needed and loved his work. He truly embodied the characteristics of a servant leader. Donald led through his actions and would do anything for anyone expecting nothing in return. He volunteered his time to give free medical care to low income families, taught and welcomed medical students into his office, volunteered as the team physician for University School of Milwaukee, and volunteered as a family physician for Marquette University.
Donald had many hobbies and interests. He loved going hunting and fishing with friends and family. Donald was a passionate fan of Wisconsin sports teams and enjoyed attending many games. He and his family saw much of the country through many road trips which created laughter and family bonding. Donald was even a certified clown (Ducky Docy), attending clown school with one of his sons. He truly was a life-long learner and modeled the importance of getting the most out of every day.
Donald was a devoted and committed husband. He loved and cared for his wife Rose with all his heart. He was the greatest teacher to his sons. Through his actions and thoughtful words he showed them what it means to be a great father, husband and human being. The world is a better place because of Donald Landgraf. We are thankful to have been graced with his positive attitude and inspiring presence. He has provided all of us with memories that will live in our hearts and minds forever assuring that his influence will never be forgotten.
Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rose “Rosie”, his three sons Robert (Diane), James (Melissa) and Michael (Stephanie), and his grandchildren Catherine, Charlie, Natalie, Annie, Jake, Isabel, Jack and Sam. He is further survived by his brother Tom (Jean) and many nieces and nephews.
