Stavros met the love of his life, Theodora at the young age of 8 years old. They grew up as neighbors in Piraeus and he proposed to her before he joined the Greek Army in 1953. They were engaged for several years before they married in 1963. In 1964 they welcomed their first child; Helen and in 1966 they moved to Montreal, Canada to begin their new life. In 1972, they welcomed their second child Athena, followed by their third child, George in 1973.
Shortly after their son was born, they moved once again to begin their final journey to the United States and settled in Orange County, California. Stavros devoted his life to raising his children, cooking, and the Church. Stavros was a dedicated member to St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church and later to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and assisted in every way he could. He also lent a helping hand where he could and would always offer to assist behind the altar as well as with baptisms, weddings, etc…
Stavros also loved to cook, he spent most of his working years as chef at Café Plaka and did not stop there. He cooked when and where he could. He was known for his famous Tzatziki and Pastichio, among many other dishes. Stavro also loved telling stories of his earlier years and when he did, it was like listening to tales on the radio, as his memory was picture perfect.
Stavros leaves behind beloved family and friends including his wife Theodora and three children; Helen, Athena (Mark), George (Voula), and five grandchildren; Iyrene (Cory), Stavros, Georgia, Markela, and Theodora. Stravros was also expecting to be a Great Grandfather.
