Rudolph "Rudy " Martinez

Rudolph “Rudy” Martinez of Nuevo, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on May 26th, 1959, in Perris, California, Rudy grew up surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished son of Rudolph and Esther Martinez and brother to sisters Dora, Emma, Sandra, and Bonita, as well as his brother Marty. Rudy graduated from Perris High School in 1977.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rudolph and Esther Martinez. Rudy is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years , Linda; his daughter Suzie, and son Anthony, along with their spouses Tony and Marlyn. He was a proud grandfather to two granddaughters, Penelope and Layla, who brought him immense joy.

Rudy dedicated 34 years of his career as a Supervisor in the Riverside County Transportation Department, where he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership. Outside of work, Rudy found great happiness in spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about his home and especially proud of his "green lawn". He was an avid supporter of the San Francisco 49ers, and he loved fishing and the river trips that allowed him to create lasting memories with those he loved.

In the past three years, Rudy showed extraordinary strength and resilience as he bravely fought cancer. His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, friends, and family members who provided exceptional care and compassion in his final days. Rudy was truly surrounded by love.

A Memorial Mass will be held to honor Rudy’s life on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church. Following the service, interment will take place at Olivewood Memorial Park, located at 3300 Central Ave, Riverside, CA 92506, at 1:00 p.m. Reception details to follow.
