Richard Van Hull, age 84, of Menifee, California passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma. Richard was born in Minnesota on December 12, 1939, and grew up in Colton, CA. After high school, Richard joined the Navy to see the world. Although he was stationed in California, he had fond memories of his time in the Navy. He taught math in San Diego schools for decades, where he also coached the high school boys' soccer team.
Richard and his wife, Mary, lived in Poway for many years where they raised their family before retiring to Menifee. Richard loved living in Menifee at the Oasis and playing bridge and poker with his friends. He was an avid reader with a lifelong love for books, puzzles and Jeopardy, never meeting a book he didn't like.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Navaroli (Martin), and Sharon Sidhu (Dev) and granddaughters Kylie Currie, Kirin Sidhu and Kaia Sidhu. Richard was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Mary, and his parents William and Ila Hull.
