Linda Kay Busch, 81, passed away April 15, 2024 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born November 28, 1942 in Redding, California. For most of her childhood she lived in Chino, California and graduated from Chino High School in 1960. Later that year her older brother Gene brought home a friend, Daryl Busch, from the Navy and told her she had to go on a date with him! They fell in love and on July 28, 1961 they were married. They were together for 56 years until Daryl preceded her in death on December 3, 2017.
Kay, Daryl and their son Barry lived in several California locations until finally settling in Perris in 1975. Kay worked a variety of jobs and ended her working career as the kitchen manager for the family restaurant, Amigos Tres.
Kay loved her extended family and making her famous potato salad and pistachio pudding for family gatherings. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas or Soboba, and quietly helping out in the community. Most of all she loved being a part of her granddaughter Holly Kay’s life. Especially watching her play water polo! During her retirement Kay enjoyed time with her dog Layla, reading, playing Words with Friends, tending to her mammoth sunflower garden and feeding her hummingbirds. She spent her last 16 months in Cedar City, spending time with Barry and Charlene and being cared for by the wonderful staff at Three Peaks Assisted Living.
Kay is survived by her son Barry, his wife Charlene, her granddaughter Holly Kay, her husband Matt and many nieces and nephews.
