Joe Neil Rahm, age 95, of Menifee, California passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Joe was the youngest of four born to John and Louise Rahm in Hooker, Oklahoma on October 23, 1927. The Rahms were a farming family and sold horses to the US Cavalry. In 1944 the family relocated to Yuma, Colorado after Joe’s brother Bob was killed in action in Anzio, Italy. Yuma is where Joe met his future wife, Doris. She first saw Joe when he was cruising down Main Street, and told her friend she would marry that guy one day. Little did she know, but Joe had seen her too. Later that same week he was riding horses with his neighbor and his neighbor’s girlfriend looking to get a girlfriend for Joe when they ended up at Doris’s house. He convinced her dad that he was a good cowboy, would keep her safe and bring her back in one piece. Well, almost. The horse they were on reared and they were both thrown. Doris ended up with a broken ankle…and the adventure began! On September 28, 1945 in St. Francis, Kansas Joe married Doris and they were blessed to celebrate a marriage of 77 years. They moved to California in 1953. Joe worked 30 years for Southern California Edison and after retiring in 1983 they moved to Lake View. In 1994, they moved to Sun City where they have remained. Over their 77 years together they raised 4 children, Beverly, Nancy, Linda, and David Rahm. They have 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. What a blessed life. Joe’s services will be on April 3, 2023, 12:15pm at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA.
