Verna F. Dallman, age 89, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the Valley VNA in Neenah. On January 4, 1922, Verna Florence was born to the late August and Selma (Kroenke) Erdmann in the Town of Richmond in Shawano County. Verna was united in marriage to Mervin Dallman on September 6, 1941; he preceded her in death on July 8, 1973. They had been faithful members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She had worked at Kimberly Clark and retired in 1988. Verna was a member of the Legion Auxiliary of Sherwood, and she loved to bowl and play Bingo. Most of all, her most favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Verna will be missed by her loving children: Laurie (Ronald) Rhode, Gail (Jerome) Ashbeck, Pamela (Donald) Peterson, Carla Dallman, and Joey (Melody) Dallman; daughter –in –law, Cynthia Dallman; her grandchildren: Renee, Todd, Matthew, Sarah, Dustin, Mark, Amy, Stephanie, Ashley, and Benjamin; her 12 great-grandchildren; brothers: Eldor (Patricia) Erdmann, Franklin (Shirley) Erdmann, James (Sharon) Erdmann; sisters: Ila Boyson and Ruth (Norman) Wright; sisters-in-law: Jan Erdmann and June Dallman Steinhauer; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her son, John W. Dallman; her brothers: Lester (Della), Roy (Elaine), Orvis (Joyce), Marlin, and Sam; her sisters: Arlean (Reinhardt) Teetzen and Anita (Oscar) Hammer; and a brothers-in-law: Norbert Dallman and William Boyson; sisters-in-law, Beatrice (Truman) Dallman Hawkinson and Gertrude Erdmann.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak Street, Neenah, with Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street in Menasha. Visitation will again be on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place in Resthaven Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Cherry Meadows, the Valley VNA staff, and ThedaCare Hospice staff for all of the kindness and comfort given to Verna.
