Mr. William Alexander Lowe

A memorial service for William will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:30 PM at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home Stage Road Chapel, 4445 Stage Road, Memphis, TN 38128.

Committal and Military Honors will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road Memphis, TN 38128.

William Alexander “Billy” Lowe was born on February 15, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the eldest of six children born to Willie Ben and Zorine Duckett Lowe, who preceded him in death. On Friday, October 4, 2024, our Lord, in His infinite wisdom, called Billy from his earthly labor to eternal reward.

Raised in a loving Christian home, Billy was baptized at St. Anthony Catholic Church at a young age. He received his education at St. Anthony Catholic School and Memphis Catholic High School for Boys (CHSFB), where he was one of the first African American students to attend all four years, graduating as part of the Class of 1968. Today, he will be honored with induction into the Memphis Catholic Hall of Fame, celebrating the historical significance of the “Saint Anthony Three,” alongside fellow inductees Luke Joseph Weathers, III and Donald Kenneth Fort.

Billy leaves behind his beloved wife of 26 years, Kinetria Taylor Lowe. From his first union, he leaves two daughters, Tiffany LaShea Lowe and Brandy Alexandra Lowe and granddaughter Taylor Elise Fields. Loving siblings, Barbara Lowe Truly, Nancy Lowe Dean (Erwin), Crystal Lowe Mitchell (Matthew), Lori Lowe Christion, and David Leon Lowe.
