William Frank Hayes "Billy"

William F. Hayes "Billy", passed away March 18, 2014 at Baptist Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Getwell Church of Christ. He retired from the Memphis Defense Depot after 31 years as a program analysis officer. He had served as a counselor for Junior Achievement and president of the Memphis Defense Depot Credit Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Douglas Hayes and Laila Kathryn Reynolds Hayes. He is survived by daughter Angela Humphrey; son Mike Hayes; one granddaughter; two grandsons and one great-grandson, two sisters Dorothy (Skip Sr.) Moore and Cynthia (Bubba) Robertson; two brothers Max D. (Leslie) Hayes and Phil Hayes; eleven nieces and nephews and very special caregivers Ruth and Chuck Irick.

The family will receive friends Saturday March 22 from 12-2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with funeral service to be conducted at 2 p.m. Entoumbment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Getwell Church of Christ, 1511 Getwell Road, Memphis, TN 38111 for the Spiritual Sword.
