William Louis Gunn, Sr (Louie), 91, passed away peacefully at his home June 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was the father of Bill Gunn of New Hope, PA, Laura Gunn Cummings of Durham, NC, and Debbie Faulkner of Memphis, TN. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters as well as his wife of 52 years, Alcione.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Shelby Faulkner and Ashley Cummings. He was the past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus. His career included a long tenure at John A. Denies until it was bought by Lonestar from where he retired. He enjoyed golf and taking care of his yard. He was an active parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Marilyn of Amada Senior Care who provided exceptional care to him during the past 4 months. We would also like to thank Rebekah, his RN, from Methodist Hospice as well as all the others from Methodist Hospice for providing outstanding care to him.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 16 from 5pm to 7pm at Memphis Funeral Home -Poplar with a funeral mass on Monday, June 17, at 10-am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church followed by burial at Memorial Park. The family requests any memorials be sent to St. Jude Hospital or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
