William Jesse Egbert, Sr., 74, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. He was a retired machinist for over 40 years. Bill was a loving husband and dad. He was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish for many years. He was a Past Master of former Angerona Masonic Lodge #168. Bill was also a Hunter Safety instructor with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency since the 70's. He was a member of Berclair Baptist Church and former Assistant Boy Scout Leader with Troop 33 there.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Sterling Egbert, his dad, William Hull Egbert, Jr., and his brother, John Rollow Egbert. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra Lovell Egbert, two loving sons, William (B.J.) Jesse Egbert, Jr. (Erin) of Arlington, TN and James Michael Egbert (Lisa) of Memphis, TN, and three precious grand blessings, William Jesse Egbert III, Emma Egbert and Scott Egbert. He also leaves behind his sister, Margaret (Tootie) Miller of Memphis, TN.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. All are invited to attend the graveside burial at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N. Germantown Parkway Road, Bartlett, TN).
