I was so saddened to learn of Chapman's death. He was a friend from our high school days, and I remember him as being so full of faith, joy and life. We reconnected many years later, being in the same field, and I respected him greatly. He will be missed.

I am terribly saddened to hear about Chapman's passing.  I am so glad I saw him one last time in Princeton on June 2.  My condolences to the family.

It was such a privilege to have known Chapman. He was such a caring and thoughtful person. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Dewey Family.

To the family of Dr. Chapman, so sorry for your loss, may he rip ... I will miss him ... He was a ver  good Doctor, I was one of his patients!! He was very professional with his work..  See you in heaven one sweet day!!

We were so shocked to hear of Chapman's sudden death.
I first met him in Daytona Beach on a Campus Crusade project in 1984. We became good friends and he came to visit us in Ireland the following year.
He made such an impression across the pond; his wit and warmth and Southern gentlemanly manners.
Fondly remembered and sadly missed.
The Dewey family circle are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sad to hear that Chapman has passed out of this life, but rejoice that he is with Jesus.  I was a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ at Princeton and greatly enjoyed getting to know Chapman.  He had such a strong love for the Lord and a positive outlook on life.  I will never forget him and his faithfulness to God. May God meet all your needs and give you His grace and peace.

I hope and pray for the Dewey family that God will provide His peace and calm in these days of the funeral services and activity. Even more so, when the family and friends go home, may God give you peace in the quiet moments.  Be still and know that He is God. Chapman was one of the most faithful men I knew at Princeton. We were in the same RA group as freshman, and it was such a comfort to know He knew Jesus Christ personally.  We grew as brother and sister through Campus Crusade for Christ. Studying God's Word together allowed us to have fellowship and to disciple others. I am so glad I got to see Chapman again last month at our college reunion.  I remember introducing Chapman to my family as "one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet."  Despite our 25 years out of contact, he was still the warm friend I remember fondly from school. To Susan and to Chapman's family, you have my deepest sympathy on this abrupt and sad loss.

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I write this. I first me Dr. Dewey when he came to work for Highland Rivers. His first assignment was to come to the clinic I worked at and cover for our doctor who was on vacation. He was a kind, gentle soul and a wonderful doctor. his patients loved him as did those of us that worked beside him. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. I will miss him greatly. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

What a tragedy for someone so young to die.  Although I hadn't seen Chapman in years, his obituary describing his kind-hearted nature obviously didn't change.  Peace to the Dewey family.

Chapman's energy, wit, faith, and gentle heart were evident to everyone he met, from his first days at Princeton to our 25th reunion just last month. His college friends are heartbroken, but happy we got to see him one last time before the Lord called him home. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Dear Anne Dewey.  The thoughts and prayers of the Davis family are with you during the time of your losses.  Thomas and Marshal were just younger than Chapman and Tucker when we shared so many good times with you and Ed.  So sorry for your recent losses.  Life has not been gentle. My heart goes out to the family of Dr. Dewey. I would like to say he was a awesome physician & coworker and will be missed very much by his Highland Rivers family.

Our prayers and condolences go out to the Dewey family.  There are no words to lessen the pain you are going through, but in remembering Chapman; he was always a bright light that seemed to be smiling through high school.  I am sure that all who knew him will remember his joy of life.

Chapman will forever be in the hearts of all of us he touched with his steadfast, kind, and gentle way.  My prayers for strength go out to his family and friends.  Though I couldn't make it to the funeral in person, please know that I am there with you in spirit.

For Chapman's family:
In my great sadness at Chapman's passing, and my reminiscing about my dear friend, I have remembered a story that made me feel a little better:
 A few years ago, Chapman went to visit a friend from his community who was dying  Before his visit,  Chapman was a little anxious about what to say, but he knew he needed to go.  He knew that she loved to speak French. So he said "Au revoir" and then explained to her that it does not mean "good by" as we think,  but really means "to when I see you again." Chapman was so very dear in how he ministered to his friend. 

 Chapman and I always ended our calls and visits with "Good by for now," as a way to affirm our ongoing friendship. So, now, with a huge heart ache, I say to Chapman "Good by for now, au revoir my dear friend. I will love you forever."  I anticipate a joyful reunion with him somewhere down the road. I am so thankful for my friendship with Chapman and will cherish him forever.
