William Murphy Davis Jr.

Billy was born on November 4, 1935 in Memphis, TN and raised on his grandfather’s dairy farm. He and his family lived in Frayser, TN before retiring to Tumbling Shoals, AR. He was a proud member of Ironworkers Union 167 since 1953. He ran work for the original Tri-State Ironworks for years and was part owner of Mid-South Erectors for several years. He loved construction and would even take binoculars on vacation to watch structures being built from the balcony.

Billy was an active member and volunteer at the Methodist church where he worked in the kitchen and performed many maintenance services.

But more than anything, Billy was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his wife of 70 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved watching and teaching his children and grandchildren.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia Anne Davis, his children, Deborah Brock (Skip), Donna Todd (Barry), Cecelia Davis, his grandchildren Christopher Brock (Faren), Jennifer McCaskill (Joseph), Billy Ray Todd (Cassie), Chelsey Hart (Robert), Haley Doty (Tanner), and 6 great grandchildren Gehrig, Emme, J, Avery, Pacey, Reese, a brother Winston Phillips (Paula), and sister Sissy Owens (Jack). His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service time at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
