William “Bill” Garrett Patterson 90, passed away August 3rd, 2018. He was born in Rebecca, Georgia on March 9th, 1928. Mr. Patterson served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his early years Mr. Patterson worked in retail selling men’s wear and later as a Regional Sales Manager, selling men’s hats from the Central to the Eastern parts of the United States. He retired from Adams Hats Inc. Mr. Patterson resided in Memphis, TN. until 1995 then moved to Jackson, Tennessee and attended West Jackson Baptist Church. He loved his family, was good hearted, compassionate, enjoyed cooking, entertaining and working in his yard.
He leaves behind two children, a son Patrick “Pat” Patterson (Scotti) and a daughter Michelle McIntyre (Tommy), five grandchildren, Ashley Whitehead, William “David” Patterson, Tyler Patterson, William “Kirk” McIntyre and Haven McIntyre, and four great grandchildren.
Visitation and a Memorial Service will be held at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN. 38122, Visitation on Wednesday August the 8th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and a Memorial Service on Thursday August 9th at 11:00am with a Committal Service following at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125 at 1:15pm
