Wesley Young Dycus, 68, of Memphis, TN passed away on October 18, 2022. Mr. Dycus was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dycus of Jonesboro, AR; mother, Shelley Dycus of Memphis, TN; and nephew, Samuel Dycus. He is survived by his son, Matthew Dycus(Angie); son, David Friend; daughter, Jennifer Crumpler(Calvin); 7 grandchildren spaced out all over the US in Florida, Memphis, California, and Mississippi; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Dycus(Teresa); step-mother, Wanda Dycus of Jonesboro, AR; step-sisters, Debbie and Ginger of Jonesboro, AR; and a multitude of extended family. Mr. Dycus was a 1972 graduate of Wooddale High School in Memphis. He worked as a scale mechanic for over 30 years and took over the family business, MidSouth Scales. In his free time, he enjoyed being out on the lake and traveling. His biggest passion in life was his family as he was a very devoted father and “Grandpa Wes”. He was known by everyone who loved him for his interesting sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Family Funeral Care for a memorial gathering on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 5-7 pm. In lieu of fresh flowers, the family requests any plants or monetary donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Samuel Dycus.
