Wanda Lee Tatum was born on November 20, 1933 to Opal and Cecil Bateman. She was the sister to two brothers: Ted and Bob Bateman. She married George Tatum and together they had five children that she cherished deeply: George Tatum III, Mike Tatum, Vicki (Tatum) Trautman, Steve Tatum and David Tatum.
Wanda was a hard working woman with the strength and determination that many strive to have. She made it her livelihood to make sure each of her children and grandchildren felt every ounce of love her heart had to give.
She enjoyed gardening, watching sports, taking care of her pets, traveling, and family time.
10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren had the chance to experience the most beautiful soul in “Mee Mee.”
She made sure her home was the glue to the tight knit family she created. Many memories were made that will remain in the mind and hearts of each of her family members. It’s safe to say that Wanda was the epitome of a family woman.
Wanda passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Although a huge piece of the Tatum family has transitioned, the mark that Wanda “Mee Mee” Tatum left on her family will remain the same. Every lesson, each piece of advice, and every memory she implanted will carry on.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery,1661 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee 38106
