Wallace M. Stone, Jr. (Bud), age 88 was born October 20, 1934 in Union City, Tn., passed away on September 20, 2023. He was reunited with his wife of 65 years, Jane Stone (who passed away July 7, 2022) He was survived by their two children , Mark Stone of Bartlett, Tn., and Jan Stone Mitchell of Germantown, Tn. (husband Greg) and grandchildren, Lindsey of Germantown, Tn.(husband Luke) Miller, Maggie of Slidell, La. (husband Nick) Thompson, and Paige Mitchell of Germantown, Tn.
Bud will be remembered by his family and friends for his kind heart and caring nature for others but most of all his love for Jesus. His history of work mainly consisted of Architecture, construction and lastly his role at Kroger in Germantown where many people remember him from. He enjoyed his antique Mustangs, Architecture and drawing Hotels. He was proud of being part of designing the first Holiday Inn ever built. In his spare time he was in the Mustangs of Memphis Club, he loved Memphis State basketball, enjoyed church activities, fishing, and getting together with his family.
He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and loved everyone especially Jesus. He told his children often, “Let your Light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)
He was a current member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He was very involved with his Sunday school Class and enjoyed leading others to Christ.
A visitation for Wallace M. Stone will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. Funeral services will occur Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A committal service for Mr. Stone will occur Monday, September 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at East View Cemetery , 415 S. Miles Ave, Union City, TN 38261.
