Virginia Ruth Reed, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Kermit Reed. She is survived by her three daughters, Anita Alton (Bill), Julie Goodwin (Ron), Tena Rutledge (Andy), her five grandchildren Jenny Price (Doug), Reed Alton (Janie), Jessica Tullos (Luke), Jason Goodwin (Anna Satterfield) and Andrew Rutledge; her seven great grandchildren: Sadie, Welby, Fisher, Izzy, Charlie, Hudson and one on the way: and her three brothers and one sister. The family will be receiving family and visitors on Wednesday, November 9, at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Avenue from 10:00 – 11:30 with the funeral immediately following. Burial will be at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh-Lagrange Road. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Kirby Woods Baptist Church, where she was a member, for the “Love Offering for Jesus” (missions offering) or The Gideons International.
