Virginia was born on May 21, 1938 to Pete and Nora Spirou in New York, NY. She proudly graduated from Messick High School in 1956. After raising her family, she entered the mortgage loan business and was instrumental in several Memphis Mortgage companies, including Leader Federal, Union Planters and NBC during her career.
Those that know her, know that the only thing that surpassed her career was the love of her family, spending many weekends and holidays at the lake or University of Memphis bowl games as well as Memphis Basketball games and tournaments. She was a proud sponsor of the University for many years.
Recently she withdrew from everything except her family due to dementia and cancer, but continued to live in her home fighting until the very end.
She is predeceased by her sister Lynn Owen and is survived by two children, Steve Green (Jill) of Germantown and Cindi Parker (David) of Cordova. She also leaves five grandchildren, Stephanie Lane (Jimmy), Dustin Parker, Allen Green, Will Green (Bia) and Vince Green, as well as four great-grandchildren, Mia Green (9), Levi Lane (4), Oliver Green (2) and Cecilia Green (5 mo).
Graveside Services will be held at Memorial Park on Monday, March 18 at 10:00 am.
