Gladys was married for 60 years to Robert W. Carter. A graduate of Tech High School class of 1958. A active member of Union Avenue Baptist Church for over 55 years. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Great grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert W. Carter; sons; Robert W. Carter, Jr., Kevin S. Carter(Rebecca), grandsons; Brennan S. Carter (Tracy), Grant J. Carter (Courtney), Great granddaughter Ryan Whitley Carter.
A gathering of family and friends for Gladys will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. Graveside service will occur Friday, September 20, 2019 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
