I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Ms. Velma Gray. I worked at LeMoyne Owen Colleg.. Velma was the sweetest and kindest person I've ever met. Her physical beauty was a close second to the beauty she had inside. My prayer is that God has blessrd the family with strength and beautiful memories of a beautiful lady.

Death cannot diminish the light that Velma brought to the LeMoyne-Owen College campus.  A cherished treasure, she will always be remembered in our hearts.  She was so loved and will certainly be missed.  Praying for Rosie and the family.

To the family, may the joy of the Lord be your strength as we share and come  together in the great  loss of our dear Sister in Christ. I miss you dearly, but I living to live so that I  shall see you in that  great  getting up morning.  Love you  forever 💓 my  Sister.

I was so sorry to learn of Velma's passing.  What a light to the world she was, always pouring something positive into those she encountered.  One of my fondest memories during several of my hospitalizations was always receiving a get well card from Velma and Rosie with a gift inside.  I have and will always cherish their thoughtfulness.  I also marveled at the loving sisterhood between she and Rosie, when you saw one you saw the other.  They were just a perfect expression of love and caring to each other.  Poised, warm, gentle, soft spoken, and beautiful both inside and out, that was Velma!  I will always cherish those wonderful times at LeMoyne-Owen and Velma and Rosie were a huge part of making those times feel like one big happy family.

Wear your Crown Queen! I love you Velma, thanks for all the talks at LOC.  Never forgotten. Take your rest! My prayers are with the family. Rosie, my heartfelt condolences and continued prayers .  Love Nerissa Grandberry
