I am Ulysses academic advisor, and I just learned of his passing. We are so heartbroken. He was a magnetic person, and had thoughts and opinions about everything! He loved to learn new things, and he was one of my favorite students to see. We'd start an advising appointment about one thing and 30 minutes later be debating some topic we both cared about and it was always so much fun. I know his professors thought a lot of him, we were excited to see his skills as a historian grow and develop. I am just so saddened by this news, and we wanted to wish his family our best. 

Good Day Family, I would be remiss if I did not begin with I truly love you all-- When He calls "ME" I will answer is what I believe Ulysses want us to know.  His mild mannered soft spoken way was always welcomed.  When I last spoke with Ulysses on Sunday, I was hurrying past him and so I spoke, and he responded saying, " You don't have time to "HUG" me, and I immediately stopped and hugged him.  Family there is a void but let it be filled in time with sweet, sweet memories.  Hold on to that love you shared and make sure that in your quiet time, in your happy times and yes lonely times,  reflect and smile with the Joy in knowing that God gave him to us for 45 years and that light that he brought to your lives no one or nothing can dim it.  Until you are stronger, Let God Lead You , Let Him be a lamp unto your feet and that light unto your path.  Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.  May Peace Be With You! My Condolences

We are saddened by your deep loss. We know you loved "June" as you so affectionately called him. We remember when he was born.  He was your long-awaited blessing from above. Your love for your precious son deepened and grew each day of his life and will never be lost.  We've watched him grow into a handsome and gifted young man. It is with honor we call him Minister Ulysses Jones, Jr.  We believe he's asleep in the Lord, but Halleluya! On that great getting up day, you will see him again. In the meantime, call on us for whatever we can do for you.

To my brother:

I love you. Writing has always been our therapy. Me and Chris will watch over Mama Jo. For our whole lives we have been three. It is difficult to imagine being two going forward but we will try our best to uphold your legacy of love. 

I think that is the greatest memory: love. Whether it was teasing us and giving us new nicknames once a month or our random arguments over superheroes. You were Superman. I am Spiderman. Chris was all the other characters. Together we were the 3. Our brotherhood is my memory. Each car ride. Each random new juice or water flavor. Each time you hugged. These are our memories. 

I would say gone too soon but I truly believed you loved your way out of this realm. Part of me knows at a deep level that you are with God-doing God's work as an Angel. I guess God needed you at a greater level to create new memories and do as you have always done: help prepare a place for your family. We will meet again. Until then I will be Love here as best possible. That is my memory. I love you brother and I miss you.

I met Ulysses at church and immediately became forever bonded to him. I love him and always will. 

3 years ago, while on a cruise, I walked in on a watch show that featured Marven Comic/Avengers character watches. From the ship, via text, he informed me that Captain America was his favorite.

When I gave him the watch over a Burger at Freddies, he rewarded me with the warmest smile and, "aww, Tommy" imaginable.

Forever that day lives in my heart. 

I am so sad that I have no words to describe it.

He loved Jesus and I promise everyone, he is forever with our Saviour.

I wish I could gather the words needed to ease your pain and offer some comfort during this hard time. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your son. You and your family  are forever in my prayers. May God, continue to watch over you.
