Tracy Alan Smith, a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away on June 24, 2024 at the age of 64. Born September 27, 1959, Tracy spent his life dedicated to his family and his faith, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Tracy was a loving husband to his wife Rene’, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. The love they shared was so deep and pure, that it provided a shining example for those around them, teaching kindness and empathy by example. Tracy knew how to make Rene’ laugh, and together they shared an immense love for concerts, Alabama football, and most of all, their children.
Tracy was the proud father of three children, Mallory, Tanner, and Makenna whom he adored more than anything in the world. He celebrated them at every opportunity, always eager to support and uplift them in their endeavors. His love for his family extended to his three beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Logan, and Delaney who brought him immense joy and pride.
A man whose love language was expressed through cooking, Tracy found great happiness in hosting gatherings for family and friends. His home was often filled with laughter, delicious food, and the comforting presence of loved ones. These gatherings were a testament to his generous spirit and his belief in the importance of togetherness.
An avid Alabama football fan, on fall Saturdays Tracy could often be found cheering on his favorite team with his unwavering enthusiasm. His passion for the game was contagious, and he enjoyed sharing this love with those around him.
A man of deep faith, Tracy found strength and solace in his spiritual beliefs. His faith guided him throughout his life, providing a foundation of hope and love that he shared with everyone he met. His faith was not one of only word but one of action as Tracy would often take part in mission trips sharing his faith, compassion, and a desire to serve others by spreading love and hope by building homes and orphanages for those less fortunate.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Rene’; his children, Mallory (Erik) Jorgensen, Tanner (Megan) Smith, and Makenna (Thomas) O’Malley; father, T.C. Smith; mother, Marie Sanders; brother, Andrew Smith; his grandchildren, Jackson, Logan, and Delaney; and many friends who will miss him dearly. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Tracy's life will be held on Sunday June 30th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Memphis Funeral Home (5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude in Tracy's honor.
Tracy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of love, faith, and togetherness will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
