Tommy L. Whiteside, 80, of Memphis, passed away August 29, 2015. Mr. Whiteside was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for many years with Autozone. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Whiteside; and his daughter, Jane Coleman. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Jackson (Richard) of New Albany, MS; his son, Randy (Wilma) Whiteside of Myrtle, MS; his son-in-law, John Coleman of Pontotoc, MS; two sisters, Brenda Douglas of Bartlett, TN, and Linda Elder of New Albany; and three granddaughters, Shanan Baker, Tiffany Coleman, and Amber Jackson. The family will gather to receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, and funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue.
