Thomas Jack Bonds, Jr, age 63 passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House after a battle with cancer. Tom was born to the late Thomas Jack Bonds, Sr and Bettie Jean Tomlinson Bonds of Memphis, Tennessee.
Tom grew up in Hughes, Arkansas and graduated high school from Harding Academy in Searcy, Arkansas where he played football for the Wildcats. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics from Arkansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
For many years, Tom worked at Cargill, Tradigrain, Grain Craft and as an independent commodities trader where he often traveled internationally to places including Switzerland, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Canada and Ecuador.
Tom loved the outdoors and hunting, especially duck hunting with his family. He was involved in sports and Boy Scout activities and numerous camping trips with his sons.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Wade and Russell Woodall Bonds. He is also survived by his wife, Marion Woodall Bonds and his previous wife, Betsy Pipkin Bonds, two sisters, Jacquelyn (Warren) Scott, Bettie Ailene (Terry) Tarr, two aunts, Joan Ailene Bonds, Carol Ann Schroeppel, one uncle, Ealy (Sharon) Tomlinson and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 10:00AM with visitation from 9:00AM to 10:00AM and Interment at Abbeville Cemetery, Abbeville, Mississippi.
