Sharon Kaye Gregory, 66, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on April 5, 2022 in Memphis Tennessee. Sharon was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Clyde Gridley and Celeste Gridley on April 3, 1956. She was the third of five girls to Clyde and Celeste.
She graduated from Kingsbury high school in 1974.
She is preceded in death by her son Justin Lewis, her husband, Ronnie Gregory, her sister Sonja Torkell and her parents Clyde and Celeste Gridley.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Simms and Jacob Gregory, daughter in law, Stacie Gregory, grandson, Jah Isaac Simms, granddaughters Skyla, Layla, Bella, and Stella Gregory, sisters Vicki Perkins, Robyn Nickell and Joann Cloud and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon had a love for spending time on the beach, cooking with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and sisters. She was a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews because she always opened her doors to those she loved.
Sharon grew up in the restaurant world with her father having Stop n Tell in the 60’s and Gridley’s Bar-be-que in the Memphis area in the late 70’s and 80’s. Sharon worked for the McDonald’s corporation for over 33 years in the Memphis area.
She loved being on the beach, soaking up the sun and throwing her cares in the ocean to wash her cares away. Sharon believed in working hard and playing hard so she never took vacation for granted.
Sharon loved the holidays and making it the best that it could be for her entire family. She loved making the traditional recipes every year for the ones she loved.
She was a forced to be reckoned with. She was a hard worker and truly believed in living everyday like it was your last. You have hard times, work through them and move forward.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm followed by a Celebration of life service at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122.
