Sarah was born March 7, 1930 in Haleyville, Alabama to the late John Overton and Maggie Scott Tedder. Also preceding her in death were her five sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Ferris is survived by and deeply loved by her five children: William John Ferris, Dennis Eugene Ferris, Norma Jean (Gilbert) Cronin, Patricia May all of Memphis and Lois Ann (Dwight) Myers of Butler, Indiana; grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
She devoted her life to her non-denominational faith, her children and family. She was a talented seamstress and reweaver who owned and operated Original Reweavers and Expert Reweavers. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping her yard; taking nature walks in Shelby Forest and Audobon Park. Sarah was a proud supporter and fan of Memphis State Basketball and the University of Alabama - "Roll Tide!". She will always be in the heart of her children and be greatly missed by family and friends.
A visitation for Sarah will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM until funeral services begin at 2:00 PM all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. If unable to attend, the service may be viewed via Livestream through Sarah's personal webpage on www.memphisfuneralpoplar.com
