RUSSELL THOMAS, 88, passed away at home February 25, 2014. He was born in Greenwood, MS. and was a lifelong Memphian and an Elder at Parkway Village Church of Christ. Mr. Thomas was a Navy Veteran and retiree of NBC Bank. He leaves his only child, Daffney Thomas-Grayer (Edward); one brother, Allen Thomas (Lillie-Bell); a precious friend, Mary Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Stewart-Thomas; two sisters, Maud Johnson and Blanche Fowler; and three brothers, Fred Thomas, Floyd Thomas and Lewis Thomas. Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Funeral Services are Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 am at Parkway Village Church of Christ, 4400 Knight Arnold. The family requests that any memorials be made to Southern College of Optometry or The American Heart Association.
