Ruby Herring

Ruby Natali Herring died September 15, 2011. Born in Lake Charles, LA, in 1926, she was one month short of her 85th birthday. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Edwin Killibrew Herring. Ruby and Ed settled in Memphis after living years in San Francisco. She was a homemaker as well as an active community volunteer, particularly with the Girls Scouts and her church. The couple was renowned for their warm hospitality and large circle of friends. Her courage, resiliency and gift for friendship will be greatly missed. She is survived by her four children and two grandchildren: Pamela Mullins and husband, Randy, Cherie Kimmons, husband, Kim and children, Emily and Patrick, Rod Herring and wife, Sharon, and Aimee Crawley and husband, Mike. A Memorial service will be at Kirby Pines at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19. Donations may be made to The American Heart Association and the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
