Rosalyn Julia Humphrey Johnson, 88, Passed away Monday, April 4th. Rosalyn was born October 11, 1927 in Monarda, Maine. She Graduated from Gorham (Maine) High School in June of 1945. After graduation Rosalyn then went to work as a secretary and stenographer , having worked for the Railroad Retirement Board; Plough, Inc.; and eventually retiring from State Technical Institute of Memphis. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed ballroom dancing and square dancing, and was a member of the Pistols and Petticoats square dance club. She attended Trafalgar Baptist Church. Rosalyn was preceded in death by her Husband of many years, Richard Asa Johnson, her parents Vinal Fayne and Edna Verna (Armstrong) Humphrey and a Brother and Sister-in-law, Ralph and Carolyn Humphrey. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Ramsdell and Etta Gibbs, her children Dale (Brenda) Johnson, Glenn (Janet) Johnson, Steven (Linda) Johnson, and Erin (Greg) Metzger, her grandsons, Steven (Christy) Johnson, Matthew (Lauren) Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Richard Malphus, and Eric (Cathy) Mason, her granddaughters, Susan (Jay) Foshee, Lauren Johnson, and Betsy Johnson and her five great granddaughters and two great grandsons. Visitation will be Friday, April 8th at Memphis Funeral Home from 9:00 am – 10:00 am with a funeral to follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Johnson may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association.
